Mocel at TOMO!

  • TOMO 9811 16th Avenue Southwest Seattle, WA, 98106 United States (map)

On April 4th, we’re honored to be part of TOMO’s BUDS series, hosted by one of the country’s best restaurants (Esquire & Robb Report) and a James Beard nominee —a true gem in Seattle’s dining scene.

This festive 21+ evening will feature a selection of hearty drinking food, cocktails, and a set from DJ Pax. The Mendoza sisters and Pax are friends who share deep ties to Seattle, the Yakima Valley, and Michoacán.

Tickets include a welcome cocktail made with Mocel mezcal, along with passed Michoacán dishes with a Tomo twist, like Dungeness crab tostadas, carnitas hot dogs, black truffle corundas, and more, prepared by Brady and the Tomo culinary team. You will also receive a second drink ticket, which can be used for another cocktail or to enjoy Mocel neat. Additional drinks will be available for purchase.

Mocel Mezcal Artesanal produces small-batch, traditional mezcal from Michoacán, Mexico. The brand has earned widespread recognition, including prestigious Double Gold Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for two consecutive years and being named a Top Mezcal by Forbes. Mocel is deeply rooted in the mountainous region of Michoacán, where the Mendoza family originates, drawing on centuries-old mezcal-making traditions. With a mission to establish a mezcal culture in the U.S. that honors the rich history and the people behind it, Mocel is proud to be one of the few family-owned mezcales distributed in America.

The mezcal is made with just two ingredients—100% agave and water—and is distilled in a wooden still, a technique unique to Michoacán. The distillation process is time-honored and labor-intensive, resulting in limited, small batches with distinct flavor profiles.

For those looking to dive deeper into the world of Mocel, Rosalinda and Elizabeth will host two special, educational mezcal tastings on the Tomo patio. These intimate sessions, designed for a small group, will feature the Cupreata 48.5% ABV (a rare mezcal with only 289 bottles produced) and the 46% ABV Ensamble, both part of Mocel’s Spring release. Each participant who adds a tasting to their experience will receive a handmade copita for future sipping!

Be sure to grab your tickets now! Please note, this is not a seated dinner, but an energetic night of mingling. 21+.
